Wayne’s Body Shop was founded
in 1960 by Wayne Jones.
Wayne served in the Navy during WWll, and after serving his
country, he trained under the GI bill in Hartford Connecticut in a large
body shop. After several years of working there, he came back to Vermont and
worked for local area dealership body shops during the 1950’s. In 1960, he
realized he could put his experience to better use owning his own body shop,
and serving the local area he knew so well. Although the body shop wasn’t
very large, Wayne dedicated his efforts to customer service, and before long
people became regular customers. As time went on, the shop increased in
size, and employees, and Wayne’s was a household name.
In 1981, his son Gary graduated from high school, and with four or five years experience already under his belt, was ready to help work at, and help run the family business. As times changed, new equipment, and training was introduced to the facility to help keep up with the changing times. Quality equipment, and constant training have always been a high priority at our facility.
Today we are very proud to carry on the family business, with some of the industries most sophisticated equipment available. Downdraft spray booth, computerized measuring system for the frame machine, and a frame straighting machine that is second to none. Even resistant spot welders to make the new welded panels stronger and look factory installed. It may not seem like much to the customer when they walk in for the estimate, but the level of quality that is achieved from just having this equipment and training, compared to shops that don’t have it, is really quite substantial. When you combine this with the experience of the technicians, it is hard to see why anyone would want to go anywhere else. Just ask us anything about our facility; we would be more than happy to answer any questions. Some shops may be bigger, but I doubt anyone has better trained technicians, or better equipment. Basically you get the best of both worlds, small town attention to customer service, with all the benefits of state of the art training and equipment.
